BAPTIST CHURCH
Meet Our Administrator,
Mr. Hicks
The Lord saved me on December 31, 1981, and I came to New England Baptist
church a year later. I have been faithfully attending ever since.
After graduating from four years of studies in Christian education, in 1990, I began
teaching in our Bible Institute and Academy. I strongly felt the call of God into the
ministry of teaching and realized the importance of a teacher’s influence on the
lives of others. With the exception of science, I have taught all subjects from grade
6 through high school. Over 10 years ago, I took on the role of school administrator
while continuing as a teacher. I coached soccer and basketball for many years
while our own three sons attended the Academy.
The mission of New England Baptist Academy is training young people spiritually,
academically and physically for God’s glory. This is important to me because the
next generation needs to know there is biblical truth and how to stand for it. We
have a wonderful staff of teachers and a great working family atmosphere.
We have used ABeka curriculum for most of the 40 years that our school has been
in existence. I appreciate this curriculum because it lays a great foundation both
academically and spiritually while continuing to build upon it through grade 12.
Students graduate with an excellent foundation, especially in language and math,
which prepares them to meet the challenges of college.
My wife and I have worked together at New England Baptist Academy for over 30
years. Our love for teaching has opened up many different opportunities including
a prison ministry. Our three sons attended the Academy as well so we were
definitely a family that spent much time together. Now that we are older, we find
that spending time with family and friends has strengthened our love and
commitment to the Lord. Jennifer and I are loyal Red Sox fans and enjoy exploring
new places in New England.
II Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever.
